Dennis, Andrea, Gwen and I enjoying the view, the music and the drinks at Blu!
So getting ready to settle in with a movie on a rainy afternoon and I decided to make up a couple of cocktails for Gwen and I. I set about to make the Andrea’s Birthday “O” that I had created for Andrea on her birthday this past Tuesday. After a couple of tweaks we had a tasty little number that Dennis, Andrea, Gwen and I enjoyed on their deck in front of the chiminea. So, into the shaker went the tequila, triple sec, St. Germain and lime juice. Now to grab that bottle of cranberry I always have around…hmmm, not in the fridge. None in the cabinet below the bar…crap! No cranberry!
Well, never fear, I’ll just try the pink grapefruit juice instead, it’s close to cranberry, right? Of course it isn’t. I have to admit, the result is less than stellar – too tart (maybe some bar syrup would save it?). So, I’ll skip this one for now, but will give you the original recipe that was intended.
Andrea’s Birthday “O”
- 1 oz good white tequila
- 1/2 oz triple sec
- 1/2 oz St. Germain
- 1/2 oz lime juice
- cranberry juice
Mix everthing but the cranberry juice in a shaker with ice. Pour into a chilled cocktail glass. Top with cranberry juice and enjoy!
Cheers!
